Here are some Nook books I recommend for under $3.99
I hope you'll check them out! Happy Reading :)

Overview: When the disease spread through the world, people had no choice but to go into hiding. The Colony is hidden deep underground, far away from the vampires—humans that were transformed by the disease. The vampires are hideous, starving, and they will kill any human they come across.
Seventeen-year-old Kayla is a Bellator, a warrior that protects The Colony. In order to survive, there are three rules she must follow:
Rule #1—Never go out after dark.
Rule #2—Always carry a weapon.
Rule #3—No matter what, never EVER get bitten.

But what happens when the rules Kayla has always lived by can no longer apply? The Highers run The Colony and accept nothing less than perfection. One slip up can mean death. Kayla has always worked hard to follow the rules and strive for perfection. But during a moment of weakness, she lets her imperfections show. Her punishment is worse than death. She is chosen for The Gathering and is thrown out into a world full of starving vampires.  No one has ever survived The Gathering, at least that’s what Kayla’s been told. But when she runs into a group who insist they were once part of The Gathering, Kayla discovers the Highers have been keeping secrets. Secrets that could lead to a cure

What I think: Darkness Falls by Jessica Sorensen is a wonderful series there's a Free version and a $.99 cent version. I'm not sure what the difference is or if there is one. So check that out before buying. (also the second book Darkness Breaks costs $2.99)

Overview: One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world. Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart. Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…

What I think: The Shadow Falls series by C.C. Hunter has got to be the best I've read in a long while. Born at Midnight costs $2.99.

What I think: Bound by Kira Saito is short but I absolutely loved it. Even better this one is free!!

Overview:  That’s what Scarlet Prince became after she was damned to a nocturnal world crawling with sphinxes, gargoyles, and necromancers. If only she’d heeded the warnings of the local legend, none of this would have happened. Only he’s the enemy. Loving him could very well destroy the entire realm—and every human on earth.

What I think: Dark world by Danielle Q. Lee is amazing! It's also free!!

Overview: For nineteen-year-old Ember, life has always been about death. With a simple touch, she can see when someone will die. It’s her curse and the reason she secludes herself from the world. But the closer they get, the more Ember realizes that Asher is keeping secrets from her. When unexplained deaths begin to surface in her town, Ember questions why she can’t see Asher's death and what it is he’s hiding from her.

What I think: Another one by Jessica Sorensen lol Ember is an amazing start to this series. This is the adult version and it seems the other version isn't for sale anymore. Only costs $.99 cents!

Skyla’s bloodlines may just be connected to the most powerful angelic beings that roam the earth, and the more she knows, the more danger she seems to be in. Suddenly an entire faction of earthbound angels wants her dead, at least she still has Logan, or does she?

What I think: As you can see I'm in an angel  kind of mood lol Ethereal by Addison Moore is a wonderful version of those angelic creatures with wings. It also only costs $.99 cents!!

Overview: Who am I?
My name is Christy Snow. I'm seventeen and I'm about to die.  I'm buried in a coffin under tons of concrete. No one knows where I am. My heart sounds like a monster with clobber feet, running straight toward me. I'm lying on my back, soaked with sweat from the hair on my head to the soles of my feet. My hands and feet won't stop shaking. Some will say that I m not really here. Some will say I'm delusional. Some will say that I don t even exist. But who are they? I'm the one buried in a grave. My name is Christy Snow. I'm seventeen. I'm about to die. So who are you? In a return to the kind of storytelling that made Black, Showdown and Three unforgettable, New York Times bestselling author Ted Dekker drags that question into the light with this modern day parable about how we see ourselves. Humming with intensity and blindsided twists, Eyes Wide Open is raw adrenaline from the first page to the last pure escapism packed with inescapable truth. Not all is as it seems. Or is it? Strap yourself in for the ride of your life. Literally.

What I think: I pretty much love anything that Ted Dekker writes and this book is no different. This is the first book of a serial series he wrote earlier this year. They're very gripping and this one only costs $.99 cents!

Overview: 17 year old Kylie Redding is trying to recover from the emotional devastation of her best friend's suicide. She hates the people in her school, she hates her step-dad, and she hates life. When Kylie begins choking on her own blood, she's surprisingly happy at the thought of dying, because she'll get to see Tara again. What she doesn't count on is awakening in a strange mansion, and finding out that she's just started her journey to becoming a vampire. The Moon Goddess Selene has chosen Kylie for a special reason, and it soon becomes apparent. Tara is not dead, and she's been given a special gift by their loving goddess. As her best friend, it's only natural that Kylie step up and become her Protector, someone that will be willing to die for her in a seconds notice. When someone begins sacrificing residents of Daray Hall, her new home, Tara's gift of mind reading comes in handy, and the two begin searching for the elusive killer. However, this gift puts Tara in great danger, and Kylie begins to doubt her choices, and herself. Together, they uncover a strange plot to summon an evil, vengeful goddess that will destroy the world with fire until only those that worship her are left. When the ultimate showdown happens, Kylie isn't sure what is going to happen; only that she needs to protect Tara with everything she has. No matter the cost.

What I think: I loved this book. I'm not sure how to sell it other than to say it was free and very good. lol

Overview:  Independent and strong-willed Della Tsang did not believe in ghosts, until she sees her dead cousin in a dark alley. She did not believe in vampires, until she turns into one. Should she follow her vampire cousin’s lead and walk away from everything she knows, or join Shadow Falls, a camp for special teens.

What I think: This is a short story from the shadow falls series. To tell the truth its so good I wish she would do more about some of the other characters. Plus it's free!

Overview: Mina Grime is unlucky, unpopular and uncoordinated, that is until she saves her crush's life on a field trip, changing her High School status from loser to hero overnight. But with her new found fame brings misfortune as an old family curse come to light. For Mina is descended from the Brothers Grimm and has inherited all of their unfinished fairy tale business. Which includes trying to outwit a powerful Story from making her its next fairytale victim. To break the fairy tale curse on her family and stop these deadly events, Mina must finish the tales until the very Grimm end.

What I think: All I can say is don't expect a fairy tale ending because you won't get one. That said it is so good it's hard to put down. I've never read anything that put a spin on fairy tales. The best thing is it's free!
