Books that I might be looking into soon

So I go around sometimes and look for free books that look decent or have an interesting excerpt. These are the few I've found. Not all of them are free but I will tell you which ones are free and how much the other one's cost.

Overview:"This is the Arena, and here we live to die."  These are the words carved into a holding cell where genetically-altered gladiators, the winged humans called Galdoni, are trained to fight. Kale, rescued by three high school students and nursed back from the brink of death, is given the chance to experience life as a human. What I think: Most of these books covers catch my attention and there excerpts pull me in. This one pulled me in because it has a guy as the protagonist. For me that's a big deal, because most of the books I read have female's as the lead. If you'd like to check this out it's free on Nook!!

Overview: The prophecy says I will fall in love with team leader and Angel, Marcus Cane. The prophecy also says that our love will cause his mission to fail and end the world. Whatever. This human is not worried.Why? Because I do not intend to fall in love with Marcus. The truth is I hate him. I hate his warm brown eyes with flecks of gold, his chiseled face and broad shoulders. I hate how over protective he is just because a few thousand demons are after me. In fact, I couldn't care less about Marcus or his perfect telekinetic girlfriend. And when I see him holding her, I don’t die a little inside…

What I think: This books sounds really good. Trying to stay away from someone you love is hard. Probably made even harder when you know your love could destroy the world. This books is also free!!

 

Overview: Jazmine Crawford doesn’t make decisions. She doesn’t make choices. She doesn’t make friends. Jazmine Crawford only wants one thing: to be invisible. For Jazmine, it’s a lot easier to take out her hearing aid and drift along pretending that nothing’s wrong than it is to admit that she’s heartbroken about her dad dying. She’s been drifting and ignoring her over-worried mum for four years now.  When bad girl Shalini and her mates adopt Jazmine, she quickly finds herself involved in more than she can handle. Sitting in disgrace in the principal’s office, Jazmine is offered a choice: help drama teacher Miss Fraser in the upcoming production of The Secret Garden or face a four week suspension. It’s Miss Fraser who clinches the decision. “I believe in you Jazmine,” she says. “I know you can do this.” And Jazmine, terrified, disbelieving and elated all at the same time, joins the play.  For a while it’s all good. Drama star and chocolate lover Liam is friendly and Jazmine realises that making friends, talking to her mother and feeling her emotions isn’t as scary as she thought. In a final happy twist of fate, acting diva Angela quits the play and with only a week to go, Miss Fraser asks Jazmine to take on the main role of Mary.
But then Shalini returns from her suspension. She’s out for payback, and she has just the ammunition she needs to force Jazmine to quit the play and go back to her old ways.
Will Jazmine be confident enough to stand up for herself against Shalini? Will Liam still like her if he finds out who she really is? And does she have the strength to face the truth about her father’s suicide?

What I think: I'm not sure why this one caught my attention. This one is more real life scenario than any of the other books I have on here. This one is free!!

 

Overview: Ava Delaney calls herself a hybrid - a living, breathing human who happens to have vampire poison running through her veins. When Ava accidentally enslaves a human while saving him from a vampire, she realises she has to look for help setting him free. Despite her misgivings, she expands her world but finds herself dragged into a possible vampire civil war. With the help of some new friends with ambiguous loyalties, she tries to find a way to keep her human, and herself, alive.

What I think: Sounds good right and the cover is beautiful. It's also free!!

What I think: The lead character crosses paths with Mr. Holmes and join forces to stop a crime. Why wouldn't you want to read about that?lol It's only $.99!!

The night before eighteen-year-old Eve’s graduation from her all-girls school she discovers what really happens to new graduates, and the horrifying fate that awaits her.  Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust...and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life

What I think: It was actually the second book that caught my eye. But if you're anything like me you have to read them in order or it feels weird. This book is $7.62 on Nook.

Overview: Everyone is exactly like me.

What I think: That one line made me want to look into this book. This book is $2.99.

 Overview: Mark Montgomery is a slacker content with his life. He’s a senior at New Haven Prep, has a great friend, and after graduation he’ll get a brand new sports car from his parents, assuming he stays out of trouble. Then, she comes into his life—Miranda with her I-just-escaped-from-a-Renaissance-Fair clothing. Only, she hasn’t. She has come from Bodiam Castle in the Middle Ages and demands a secret ingredient and a book of recipes for traveling through the treacherous colors of time. Although Mark has never even heard of either before, he must find them, or Miranda will die. To save her, Mark must break into a psych hospital to visit his grandfather who once tried to kill him, pass through the colors of time, take on a medieval alchemist, prevent Miranda’s marriage to a two-timing baron, and keep it all hidden from his parents. The sports car is definitely in trouble.

What I think: This book caught my attention because I'm a sucker for things about time travel. This book is also $2.99.

Normal just got a deadlier definition.

What I think: I love books about witches and I never can find ones that seem like they would be good. This one though seems like it would be good. And it too is only $2.99.

What I think: I love Richelle Mead! I've read and loved her Vampire Academy series (you should check that one out as well.). So I'm sure this will be good as well. At least I hope so lol. This book is $12.99.

Overview:  Sam leads a pretty normal life. He may not have the most exciting job in the world, but he’s doing all right—until a fast food prank brings him to the attention of Douglas, a creepy guy with an intense violent streak. Turns out Douglas is a necromancer who raises the dead for cash and sees potential in Sam. Then Sam discovers he’s a necromancer too, but with strangely latent powers. And his worst nightmare wants to join forces . . . or else. With only a week to figure things out, Sam needs all the help he can get. Luckily he lives in Seattle, which has nearly as many paranormal types as it does coffee places. But even with new found friends, will Sam be able to save his skin?

What I think: I read a free sample of this on my Nook and also read a short novella that goes along with this series and instantly wanted to read this so bad! Really can't wait to read it. This book is $7.12.

Overview: There are good reasons Peru is off-limits to Magnus Bane. Follow Magnus’s Peruvian escapades as he drags his fellow warlocks Ragnor Fell and Catarina Loss into trouble, learns several instruments (which he plays shockingly), dances (which he does shockingly), and disgraces his host nation by doing something unspeakable to the Nazca Lines.

What I think: If you loved Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices then this series is right up your alley. Also I know most of you that do love those series have always wondered about Magnus Bane. I know I have. This is one of ten adventures in The Bane Chronicles. This books is $2.99

Well that's it for the time being. I know for sure I'll have more. So many books so little time and money lol.
