Amity *Spoilers!*

Here is a house of ruin and rage, of death and deliverance.
Here is where I live, not living.
Here is always mine.

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children!

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children written by Ransom Riggs

Overview:
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs.

It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Books being turned into Movies!

So of course the movie is never quite as good as the book, but we all love to see our favorite books hit the big screen. Only if its to make sure they did things the way we imagined them in our heads. Not to say some of those movies have turned out to be huge disappointments. I could name a few but then this would turn into a totally different post than I wanted it to. So here are some of the movies that have already come out and that will be coming out this year that are based on books. And these are just a few that I'm particularly excited for there are so many more than just these few.

The Beautiful Ones

The Beautiful Ones written by Lori Brighton

Overview:
Some say we’re special, and that’s why we’re kept in seclusion. Beyond those walls evil lurks and innocent prey would be lost in minutes. Gone. Destroyed. Forgotten.
Others say the opposite: we’re locked away because there’s something wrong with us. If we roamed the outside world, we might taint the beautiful ones. A species so pure, that to merely be in their presence is a gift.
As for my beliefs…I’m not sure.
But I do know one thing: neither of those reasons explains why it is that they come for us only after we’ve passed the age of sixteen. Whether we want to go or not, we’re taken through those iron gates. Escorted away from the only home we’ve ever known, escorted to our destiny—whatever that destiny may be—never to be seen again.

I'm back! (from outer space)

So I had an awesome trip to San Diego to see my sister graduate! I didn't take a ton of pictures,
but the few I did take are on my instagram if you would like to see them. I got to read some on
my trip. I picked up a few new books and I'm so excited to start reviewing them for you. I've also
won some ARC's of a few books that I'll also be reviewing. I'll tell you which ones those are when
I do review them :) I am however going to do a quick review of The Fault in our Stars. I know
that by now everyone's read it and seen the movie. So it's kind of a late review but oh well lol

Shows That Were Cancelled Too Soon

I've been watching Joan of Arcadia recently (awesome show by the way!). I've come to realize that there are so many shows that have been cancelled so much earlier than they should have been. So here are a few of the shows that I watched that ended too early for my liking.

Two Blues

Two Blues. One for Day. One for Night.
I found myself in the Night. Then saw the truth of myself in the Day.
How much of ourselves do we hide from the Day only to expose it to the Night?
How often do we whisper things into the Night, that we would rather forget about during the Day?
The ideas and thoughts you would rather no one ever find out about. Giving them over to the dark and quiet of the Night. Looking at the Day as if it some how absolves you of the things you gave to the Night. What if those ideas and thoughts didn't just break apart with the Daylight. What if they slithered through the Night seeking out all those things you've left in the darkness over time. Bringing them all together and making themselves come into being on only the emotion you left there in the dark cold spaces of life. Could you defeat it? Or would you succumb to the evil that you never knew was inside yourself?

I'm not entirely sure where that came from. I just wanted to write and there it is. Sometimes its one line other times its a huge paragraph. I wonder if this ever happens to other people. Do you ever get inspired by something and then it takes a life of its own and becomes something completely different? I'll leaves this here. If you do use it please credit me for writing it. I'd also love to read some of the things any of you have written. If you don't want to share it here email me at halstonseabolt@aol.com

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

I finally went to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. You have to see this movie in the the theater to get the full experience. This movie was even better than the first on. I highly recommend seeing these movies. I know that most movies like this don't appeal to everyone, but I would suggest you give them a chance. If you like them check out The Lord of the Rings movies as well. The Hobbit came before the Lord of the Rings but they can both stand alone. The Hobbit tells you how the one ring was found and The Lord of the Rings tells you what happened to the ring after it was found.

Holiday Madness / Traveling

Sorry for being gone so long. The holidays bring with them a certain type of madness. I had no time to read anything or do much of anything buy plan Christmas and New Years. I went on a trip to Florida for New Years and just got back. So I should be starting up again real soon. I would like to do a post about traveling though. I realized after not having been on a plane for about three years that not a lot has changed with traveling. But many people haven't or don't know how to make things easier on themselves.
